Cape Town goes Totally Dutch

Orange madhouse at the Fan Fest, Fan Walk and the Stadium in Cape Town

Finally...! After Johannesburg and Durban it’s time for Cape Town to turn orange. This Thursday an expected 8000 Dutch soccer fans will gather at the Fan Park in Cape Town prior to the match against Cameroon to be played in Cape Town Stadium that night. Expect an orange Fan Park, an orange Fan Walk... expect a totally orange Cape Town!

The Dutch are known for many things – for instance tulips, prostitutes and wooden shoes. And of course – their passion for their world class soccer team ‘Oranje’.

So far, they haven’t let their fans down, wining their two first matches against Denmark and Japan. Bravo!

Dutch convoy on CNN
Their first match was played in Johannesburg and closely watched by thousands of Dutch soccer fans that traveled to South Africa to follow the team.

A convoy of loyal Dutch soccerfans stayed at ‘De Oranjecamping’, who follow their team all the way through the group stage. Even CNN caught them on camera!

Impressive sight from the Air!

After a satisfying 2-0 win over Denmark, the convoy moved on to Durban, ready for their next victory over Japan. An impressive Dutch army of amours drove 650km along the South African highway, beautifully captured from a helicopter...

Next stop: Cape Town! Thursday this city will be coloured orange like it has never been before. And we will be there to capture all those crazy passionate Dutch people in the Fan Park and in the stadium of the beautiful Mother City.

We will add many more videos in the coming 48 hours and weeks to follow - stay up to date and follow @capetownmag on twitter and www.facebook.com/capetownmagazine for the most incredible photos and videos!

Cape Town, here we come. Be prepared...!
