Constantia Uitsig is situated on a wine estate that creates an elegant yet relaxed atmosphere.
The restaurant is in the original Manor House on the estate and creates a home away from home mood.
The food which is a blend of Italy flavours and forays into exotic Asia allows the restaurant to remain amongst the top featured restaurants in South Africa. For those who appreciate good food and service, Constantia is the perfect restaurant.
Christmas Eve Menu for 2009 at Constantia Uitsig:
Champagne on arrival
Starters: Summer salad, a mixture of fresh asparagus, artichokes, fine bean, sugar snaps on a bed of baby mix leaves topped with truffle dressing
Or
Vitello Tonnato Freddo, cold veal in tuna sauce
Or
½ fresh Cape crayfish with garlic mayonnaise, poached and served cold with a side baby leaf salad
Main Course: Asparagus risotto; a slow roasted lamb shoulder with olive oil, rosemary and garlic - served with spinach Genovese and roast potato
Or
Five-spice roasted belly pork, served with pak choi and tender stem broccoli - which has been finished with oyster sauce
Or
Grilled east coast sole with seasonal veg and pomme frits and fresh lemon
Desserts: Christmas pudding with brandy sauce and egg nog ice cream Or Butter cake with caramelised nectarines
Or
Fresh summer berries in millefuille, served with whipped cream
Café, Mince pies and Turkish delights will also be served
