Vaudeville Adds Burlesque Spice to Cape Town's Festive Season

The dinner theatre extravaganza makes a comeback in the Mother City

Vaudeville,
Cape Town’s new “über entertainment destination”, opens 15 December 2009 with an energetic four act burlesque show. Top South African and international performers will present a multi-genre theatrical piece that includes Olympic gymnasts, aerial acrobats, a hula hoop fire act, show girls, pole runners, tap dancers, B-boys and more.

Vaudeville is
a 300-seat supper club that serves up outlandish spectacles with its three-course dinners from chef Andrea Foulkes. Between acts, Jinx, the five-piece band led by Vaughn de Ville, will be providing the music - a blend of circus Balkan and oompah.

The inimitable Irit Noble will compère the show described as ‘Marlene Dietrich’s 1930s Berlin-meets-Tarantino’. The stellar theatrical team behind Vaudeville combines the creative talents of producers Will Hutton and Andrew Florenca of The Sunroom, and the art director and party architect, Dirk Vervaeke.

The Vaudeville venue incorporates the Moroccan-themed Fez Club that is being re-launched. Its convenient location will enable patrons to continue the party after each show.
