St. Patrick’s Day Parties in Cape Town

It’s even more fun NOT to have fun on St. Patrick’s Day

St. Patrick’s Day is on 17 March – an international excuse to dress up and drink.

Cape Town will be celebrating St. Patrick's Day in a few Irish Pubs such as The Dubliner and O'Driscolls [old Catu] and other places.

There’s a lot we could actually learn from the Irish when it comes to hard partying. When their government declared St. Patrick’s Day a mandate to celebrate themselves in the mid ‘90s, they extended a national tradition into a five day festival. That’s a working week!

In Cape Town, we don’t go as far as dyeing our rivers green like they do in Chicago but we do like to don the green and down the draught. Come St. Paddy’s day, we definitely agree on the fine art of fun. In case you’re a saint, though, here are ten ways not to have fun on St. Patrick’s Day.

It’s even more fun not to have fun on St. Patrick’s Day because then everyone can make fun of you! ...
