The Desmond Tutu Foundation presents Art for Life Launch

Four of South Africa’s favourite musical talents; along with beloved comedian Nik Rabinowitz (as Desmond Tutu) join forces to launch Art for Life - a response to the HIV crisis in South Africa.

This prestigious event promises to be an intimate showcasing of solo performances and collaborations between some of the country’s finest proponents of Afro-pop, traditional folk, R&B and hip-hop.

Afro-pop heroes Freshlyground, traditional folk legend Vusi 'The Voice' Mahlasela, the king of R&B Loyiso Bala and one of South Africa’s most gifted and conscious hip hop artist’s Tumi Molekane, have all taken active roles in the fight against HIV, not only as individuals but also as 46664 ambassadors.

They invite you to join them in launching this important initiative that really will make a difference to those infected and affected by HIV and AIDS. All proceeds from ticket sales and merchandise go directly to Art for Life.

Art for Life is a community building initiative that will identify, train, and support local community members to become educated and articulate voices in the fight against HIV. 

An Art for Life community leader will receive thorough training from the Desmond Tutu HIV Foundation and work within one of the Foundation’s many programmes to educate a range of community members about HIV treatment, prevention, and assist with linkage to care.
