Inventive small plates best explored with a wine pairing
The Absa KKNK (Klein Karoo Nasionale Kunstefees), which will be presented for the eighteenth time from Saturday 31 March to Saturday 7 April 2012 in Oudtshoorn, once again celebrates the variety within the arts. It has cemented itself as one of South Africa’s largest annual festivals drawing huge crowds to the Karoo desert from all around the Western Cape and beyond.
Cape Town’s drama lovers can look forward to performances such as Nicola Hannekom’s Babbel, Namjive dance companies’ Vlam, Sam Shepard’s award winning Buried Child and many many more – with last year’s KKNK seeing more than 30 productions.
Besides the festival productions, festival goers can also look forward to an array of live music concerts from rock to country and electronic music at various stages. Last year saw the likes of Jack Parow, Prime Circle and David Kramer.
All in all the Klein Karoo Arts Festival 2012 will have something for everyone - both English and Afrikaans: street parades, markets, visual arts, drama and dance productions, live music and DJs, beer tents and braais en masse.
The full Absa KKNK programme will be released on the 18 January 2012.
