Live jazz in and around Cape Town happens all the time; the trick is to find the really good stuff! Join Backsberg in their beautiful gardens – choose a table under the Oak trees, or bring a blanket to spread on the lawn – for good food and great jazz.
The Jazz line-up:
Kicking off the season will be Ripple Effect – a four-piece instrumental and vocal jazz band. The band, consisting of a pianist, bassist, drummer and vocalist, play various forms of jazz, ranging from swing to Afro-centric to Latin and Cape Town jazz.
The individual members are all involved in the music industry, specifically leading their own music schools and teaching music. The group is a regular at festivals and their performances are always an original mix of beautiful music.
The Food:
Freshly baked ciabata bread filled with slices of spit-roasted lamb; Italian-style cured meats and delicious cheeses matched with preserves; sun-dried tomatoes, olives, feta, and a trio of home-made dips served with savoury biscuits and farm-style bread; as well as seasonal fruit skewers.
