Bookworm Paradise at the Cape Town Book Fair at the CTICC

As the largest book-related event in sub-Saharan Africa, the fair is expected to attract over 50 000 visitors!

The 2009 Cape Town Book Fair will be dedicated to the literature and published works of the continent of Africa.

Leading African intellectuals and academics will be invited to debate, discuss and voice their opinions on the literature of the continent and beyond.

The Cape Town Book Fair is the perfect place to get an overview of the literature and publishing from other African countries. In 2009, a significant emphasis will be placed on this as part of a collaboration between the fair and the Goethe Institute.

You will also meet many of southern Africa's most prominent intellectuals who will voice their varied opinions through discussions and debates. This year you will also have the opportunity to hear voices from Romania and India.

For the 2009 Cape Town Book Fair the focus will be on the literature from each corner of Africa. The countries chosen will be included in the seminar programme, which will include various aspects of cultural diversity and African scholarship.

You are invited to join well-known and up-and-coming writers and many other interesting participants at the 4th Cape Town Book Fair.
