Every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month The Cannon Association of South Africa will show off their skills at the De Grendel Wine Estate in Durbanville – it’s something you won’t want to miss so get there before 12pm which is when the cannon will be shot.
Like so many memorable stories about the origin of great wines and farms, the Graaff family tell a historical tale steeped in heritage, making De Grendel the perfect venue for the historical cannons.
The CAOSA are a small band of enthusiasts who are determined to stop the loss and decay of the muzzle loading cannons which form a part of our national heritage.
