Sure Thing Fridays at The Dragon Room
Progressive house, electro and swing beatsat The Dragon Room
This weekend celebrate Mandela Day in Cape Town at the inaugural Ubuntu Festival - at Mandela Rhodes Place, St Georges Mall - and join in uniting people through dialogue, theatre, food, jazz, rock, pop, opera, dance, art, craft, produce, design, hospitality, sport, trade, enterprise and entrepreneurship.
Rock to the sounds of top SA artists; taste the delicacies that the city is renowned for; mingle with enterprising crafters and artists and enjoy the ambience of Mandela Rhodes Place and surrounds.
Both Church Street and the mall will be covered with a marquee, which will provide shelter for the Grand Stage and Cultural Cuisine Quarter.
A festival with a difference, the exciting line-up includes everything that Cape Town is known for: a lively programme of music – from jazz to pop idols, rock to cultural dance – expect a colourful array of hip hop, kwaito and more, tempting cuisine, upcoming artists, producers and crafters – everyone will be donning their party gear!
The various quarters feature food, drinks and products from different restaurants representing countries and cultures - Indian, German, Italian, British, Dutch, Moroccan, Thai, French, Chineses, West Coast, Cape Malay, African, Camerron, Senagal and Ethiopian.
A bright rainbow experience is what you can expect and, with the addition of corporate workshops and gala occasions, unity and education join hands with entrepreneurship and talent to show “ubuntu’ in its true sense. Come celebrate the talents that our rainbow nation has to offer.
