Precede your Christmas Day plans with a superb Christmas Eve lunch or dinner in Franschhoek

While the 18th-century manor house and the owner’s cottage reflect Grand Provence’s Huguenot heritage, the restaurant and wine-tasting area project a chic industrial presence.

Leading off from the restaurant is the welcoming wine-tasting area. The bar dominates the centre of the room and its galvanised steel with black strapping certainly makes an impression.

A touch of fun is evident with the tractor seat bar stools, while a fireplace and upholstered chairs soften the perimeter of the room, inviting guests to sit back and savour every sip.

On offer will be French-influenced dishes with a fresh contemporary interpretation utilising the finest ingredients and showcasing local products.

12:00 – Welcome drink
12:00 onwards - A violin and guitar duo play for your enjoyment
12:30 - Family-style three course lunch (see menu below) accompanied by the fun of pulling Christmas crackers and the presentation of the Grande Provence gourmet gift

Christmas Eve Dinner Menu at Grande Provence:

Starters:

Marinated mushrooms and artichokes, grilled vegetables with tyme, grilled calamari salad, prawn beignettes with chilli, game ballotine with gribiche, charcuterie board and breads.

Main:

A choice of: Roast turkey and beef OR Seasonal fish and prawns OR Assiette of vegetables (vegetarian) accompanied by a choice of the following: Sweet potatoes OR Melanzane OR Potato dauphinoise OR Sauteed mushrooms OR Turkey stuffing OR Cranberry sauce and Gravy.

Desserts:

Plum Pudding, Blue berry and almond truffle, Traditional Christmas cake with custard, Strawberry and passion fruit Pavlova, Pumpkin cheesecake.
