With ceilings soaring skywards and lots of wood and stone incorporated into the décor, the Silver Tree restaurant in the Kirstenbosch Gardens has been artfully designed to complement its surroundings.

The concertina glass doors fold right back to allow uninterrupted views of the gardens and mountain backdrop.

The Silvertree Restaurant has an awning-covered patio to provide plenty of shade for al fresco dining and the large bar ensures diners can enjoy aperitifs before dinner.

Be treated on arrival with … Crushed mint and berry champers.

Discover … Old fashioned chicken liver pate accompanied by a delicious variety of bread.

A decadent feast to follow, consisting of ... Marinated asparagus on a bed of greenery served with salmon roses, caviar and hollandaise sauce, German potato salad, roast beetroot salad topped with avocado, biltong and croutons, chickpea salad, cherry and pineapple glazed gammon with apple sauce, rare roasted sirloin with horseradish and turkey roasted to succulent perfection.

To accompany and enhance your feast ... Pan-fried basmati rice, steamed carrots and peas and a selection of roasted root vegetables.

A little decadence and an absolute must ... Drunken Christmas pudding with brandy custard, home-made cassata and a selection of berries, marshmallows and meringues to accompany a chocolate fountain.

Tea or coffee and mini mince pies.
