Recently refurbished, Blues now boasts a new wine cellar featuring a large dining table for up to 12 people, which is ideal for private dinners and wine tastings. The new glass-enclosed smoking section can seat up to 32 people, while still guaranteeing the view.

The new menu has retained the Blues basics of simplicity, authenticity and freshness, with added hints to Asian inspiration with items such as Thai Style Calamari Salad on crunchy oriental greens and Pan Seared Ostrich Teriyaki with a smear of wasabi and drizzled with sake and soya.

This year’s Christmas Lunch menu at Blues Restaurant:

Starters: Home cured salmon with sweet potato and avocado salad OR Springbok carpaccio with beetroot and olive jus OR Tomato tarte tatin surrounded by a basil, pine nut and parmesan puree OR Pear and gorgonzola salad with roasted butternut and crispy bacon.

Main Course: Char-grilled tuna on a warm summer vegetable salad OR Orange glazed turkey with traditional roast vegetables and a red wine sauce OR Apple and cranberry stuffed gammon with caramelised pumpkin mash and new potatoes OR Spring onion gnocchi with a four cheese sauce, walnuts and sweet bell peppers.

Desserts: Festive cassata with meringue crumbs and a peach coulis OR Dark and white chocolate marquise with a tangy orange glaze OR Summer berry basket with sweetened mascarpone cream.
