ESP Fusion at Backsberg Estate
Enjoy some great jazz and fine food in the cosy intimate setting of the Backsberg Restaurant
The Backsberg Jazz season has been running from January this year and ends in June. It features a different jazz band on the last Friday of every month. This month's featured band is ESP Fusion.
As the evenings grow colder, the jazz evenings now move from the lawns outside to inside the cozy Backsberg restaurant – the perfect intimate setting. Relax and enjoy their delicious Mediterranean platters and Backsberg wines against the backdrop of fine jazz music.
This month Backsberg is featuring Stellenbosch-based band, Eccentric Sound Productions (ESP) Fusion. Comprising a pianist, bassist and drummer, this instrumental trio is all thoroughly immersed in the South African music scene.
Influenced mainly by various Cape Ghoema, Funk and Latin styles, they combine these with their own unique sound to produce – as the name suggests – an eccentric mix which will leave you humming their tunes long after the show is over.
The Backsberg Mediterranean Platters consist of:
Freshly baked Ciabata Bread filled with slices of Spit Roasted Lamb; Italian-style cured meats and delicious cheeses matched with preserves; Sun-dried tomatoes, olives, feta, and a trio of home-made dips served with savoury biscuits and farm-style bread; as well as seasonal fruit skewers.
Backsberg wines will be available for purchase as well.
