Join highly acclaimed chef Michael Norman for dinner with a difference at the Cape Milner

World-renowned chef Michael Norman will be hosted by the Cape Milner Hotel during his forthcoming tour of South Africa, where he will be treating his local fans to some select specialty dishes from his famous Restaurant 360° in Istanbul.

Michael will be cooking up a storm at The Cape Milner Hotel on 7 and 8 November 2008, and both events are sure to have guests enjoying an unforgettable culinary experience.

The opening night of Michael’s South African tour at the Cape Milner will entail a delectable table de haute four course set menu, followed by another unforgettable dinner on 8 November.

Michael’s started his successful career as a chef in a trainee position through the Southern Sun Hotel Group, where he received the best overall marks during his three year apprenticeship.

After completing his apprenticeship top of his year, he won the coveted prize to pursue his training on an international platform.

Michael relished the culinary challenge and soon learnt all he could to advance in his chosen trade – preparing traditional dishes, but making them his own with his natural artistic flair and enthusiasm.

Upon his return home, he led the kitchen team at The Old Halliwell Hotel, placing it on the culinary map with its distinctive style.

After a stint in the Natal midlands, he ran the Cascades Hotel with distinction, and won numerous plaudits and accolades.

It is here that he was noticed by his next employer, the Kapinski Cairn Palace Hotel, where he was rated as the Worlds Best Chef in 1997 and 1998 by The Leading Hotels of The World.

Michael has since left the Cairn Palace Hotel and currently owns and manages four restaurants, as well as consulting prestigious hotels and restaurants.
