Halloween Dive in Cape Town with Scuba Shack
We've found a unique and suitably scary underwater activity for you to enjoy this Halloween!
There are boring ways to celebrate Halloween, and there are exciting and unforgettable ways.
Something that fits squarely into the latter category is a scuba dive down to a sunken wreck – at night!
Cape Town’s Scuba Shack Dive Centre invites you to experience the ultimate Halloween by taking a dive on the wild side.
To make things even more exciting (if exploring a wreck at night isn’t enough!) they invite you to dress up while you are doing your scuba dive – and there are prizes for whoever dresses the most originally!
The Halloween night dive will be from one of Scuba Shack’s boats, providing the weather is good enough, otherwise it will be a shore dive.
You will meet at their Dive Centre in Kommetjie at 17.30 to have enough time to mingle with your fellow divers and the staff, and to do the necessary paperwork.
Then it will be time to load all the gear onto the rubberduck and get ready to dive, after being briefed about what to do and what to expect…
Sunset will be at around 19.30, and the idea is to launch the boat then so that it will be dark when you hit the water.
Once underwater you’ll be surprised at how much you’ll be able to see, thanks to a primary torch and a back-up torch. At night, the reef comes alive and there is plenty of underwater activity!

Venue: Meet at Scuba Shack Dive Centre in Kommetjie
Price: Cost is R200 for the dive, and full equipment rental is R280
The dive will take place under supervision of several experienced divers and instructors who have been certified by the Professional Association of Diving Instructors. All divers are welcome and you don't have to be very experienced!
