Hockey Coaching Academy in Athlone August 2008

Lurgan Ladies Hockey Club and Eric Jenkinson from Jenkinson Consulting, Northern Ireland will once again be hosting the Hockey Coaching Academy for the Amy Biehl Foundation in Cape Town.

The Academy will be running from the 11 to 15 August 2008 at the Central Hockey Club, Vygieskraal Stadium, Johnson Road in Athlone.

There will be over 30 children participating each day, from the Zimasa Primary School in Langa and Edendale Primary School in Manenberg.

This event will be hosting 16 girls (aged 11 – 15 years) from the Northern Irish Hockey Club who will be coming to South Africa to show the importance of sports, promote healthy living, expose South African children to new cultures, enhancing their hockey skills and giving them an opportunity which they have never had before.

The Amy Biehl Foundation will be hosting a Welcome Ceremony on Sunday, 10 August at 16:00 at their offices, 7th Floor, No 1 Plein Street, Cape Town and a Prize Giving Ceremony on Friday, 15 August at 10:00 at Vygieskraal Stadium.

Various MEC’s and other government officials will attend both these events.
