Jazzart Dance Theatre production: Partly God

Catch Jazzart's new dangerous, complex and evocative production at Cape Town's Artscape Theatre

Jazzart Dance Theatre has teamed up with award-winning director, Lara Foot, to create a provocative new production, partly god, which opens at the Artscape Theatre in October.

Choreographed by Jazzart’s resident dancemakers and using an evocative original soundtrack composed by Neo Muyanga, partly god explores particularly South African themes.


The narrative tells the story of a young man on a quest to find his father. On his journey he encounters the spirit of a boy soldier whose wisdom helps him find healing within himself.

The production encompasses a landscape of reality and violence as well as a dreamscape and a magic space, where anything is possible.

Tickets are R60 each, or R30 for block bookings of 20 or more. Pensioners and students receive a 10% discount.

Dates: 16 - 18 October and 21 - 25 October
