Sure Thing Fridays at The Dragon Room
Progressive house, electro and swing beatsat The Dragon Room
The Upbeat festival will be held on the 9th & 10th of February 2006 at the Rag Farm. 2006 promoses to be nothing less than spectacular! Yet again Tuks Rag has gathered all of South Africa's best music talent all at one venue. The show runs over two evenings. The Thursday evening will be a classic mix of good solid afrikaans music with a funky mix of hip-hop and house. The following is what can be expected: Koos Kombuis (the ledgend), Klopjag, Jan Blohm Think Funk, Optical illusion, Kanunu to name just a few.
The Friday evening is the end of this urban cool music show. It is a brilliant mix of rock, alternative, hip-hop, house and kwito. Three stages will be used to host: The Narrow, Karen Zoid, Fokofpolisiekar, The Parlotones, Dj Fresh, Kwani Experience, HHP, Dj Christos and a fewq surprise bands and artists.
Tuks Rag has been hosting music shows since the early 1970's where they started in Pretoria on Church Square. The festival's popularity grew to such proportions that the square could not accommodate the variety of music lovers that gathered for the annual event. The organization decided to buy a piece of land wich is part of the Koedoespoort farm owned by the University of Pretoria. This venue is what we know as the Tuks Rag Farm.
The Tuks Rag Farm is more than just a venue with three stages. The Rag Farm defines what urban youth culture is all about, where young people of all races and creeds unite in the celebration of the best South African music.
As a treat we offer Free Downloads of South African Music exclusively for our subscribers to the free monthly newsletter.
