Lecture on Architecture of 2010 World Cup Green Point Stadium
Enjoy this lecture by Robert Hormes, head architect behind the new 2010 stadium in Green Point, about the stadium's architecture and design
You are invited to a presentation by Robert Hormes of GMP Architekten, Germany - the lead architect at the 2010 Green Point Stadium - about the design, construction and future use of the Stadium.
Construction of the stadium has reached a momentous stage – the superstructure has been completed and installation of the roof and of the remarkable façade which will clad the entire stadium by the end of September 2009 – has begun. This stage of events is attracting media attention from around the world.
Robert presents a fascinating insider perspective on the architecture of the Stadium – created from its context in spectacular Cape Town. “Any postcard or picture of world-famous Cape Town will be different from now on”, he says. “There is no going back – ever. This has to be perfect”.
GMP Architekten has designed some of the world’s most significant buildings and Robert will briefly present some of GMP’s work around the globe.
