Liza Grobler’s Visitor (The Square) Exhibition at iArt Gallery
Visitor (The Square) follows on from Visitor at the Irma Stern Museum
The initial exhibition interacted with the physicality of the exhibition space - the former home of the artist Irma Stern. The show was originally conceptualised for the intimate environment of this house cum exhibition venue, and acknowledged human interaction as a core ingredient of artistic output.
Apart from the random and invited viewers who visited to see Grobler’s work, other artists were invited to be guest participants within the one-day residency programme and various other collaborations.
For Visitor (The Square), Grobler has made a selection from Visitor at the Irma Stern Museum. As most of the work is context specific, the new venue will re-define the visual dialogue. During the initial show, most of the visits were in process.
Aspects thereof have now been reworked and are presented as ‘completed’ works within Visitor (the Square), but there will also be new visitors and a new collaboration with artist Jeanne Hoffman LeGrand. The aim is to keep the creative process visible and alive within this white cube space.
