New Joyful Cape Town Market on Kloof Street
Make a difference while visiting the Joy Market, Cape Town's new vibrant community market
Community projects and other local producers will uplift the community thanks to the newest addition to Cape Town’s popular market culture.
The Joy Market is a new Cape Town market that will give you a chance to meet the people making a difference and support them in various ways.
Projects such as Sisonke Stellenbosch make beautiful handmade hearts, beaded-word key rings, and recycled plastic bag articles.
Township Trade make handmade soaps with coconut, palm and sunflower oil – truly a must-have. Christian Gear clothing will also be there selling clothing with a message and funky and original kids’ clothing.
Deli 55 organises the food section and you will be able to get your weekly vegetables fresh from small farms.
There are local cheeses, olives and nuts that you can taste and buy per gram/kg, and you can also get freshly baked breads, cookies, cakes, fudge, and quiches.
There will be many similar Joy Market days throughout the year.
Dates already set are 3-8 November, 6 December and 7 February 2009.
The market in November will be a special week long market, just in time for all the Christmas shopping.
