Piano and Wine Tasting at Backsberg Wine Estate
Music - the perfect accompaniment to any good wine
At the age of five a young girl named Helena started playing on her grandmother's piano and almost immediately her parents noticed that she had potential.
She wasn't just plonking the keys, but actually making music. Some years and after a musical education at the prestigious Isador Epstein School of Music, Leni the concert pianist was born.
She has spent the past 13 years playing at the world renowned Le Quartier Francaise boutique hotel and restaurant in Franschhoek.
Her specialty is arranging melodies – often blending styles to form a contemporary-classical fusion.
Now Leni still plays a grandmother's piano – Granny Phyllis's. The late Sydney Back's wife Phyllis had her very own old baby grand, which now resides in the Tasting Room at Backsberg.
Come and listen to Leni every Saturday from 11h30 to 13h30 in the Backsberg tasting room where she will reawaken this piano with her unique style.
