Join us this October for the exciting open-air spring wine festival! The Robertson Wine on The River takes place 16 - 18 October this year at the beautiful Goudmyn riverside venue.
You are invited to gather a group of friends and join us on the banks of the Breede River to taste more than 300 wines from over 40 wineries. Soak up the rhythm of LIVE music and acoustic sound and enjoy laid-back country hospitality at its best.
The event will be hosted in huge marquees at the riverside farm Goudmyn, on the R317 between Robertson and Bonnievale - shaded by poplar trees. Visitors will be able to park on site as well as Spes Bona (neighbouring farm) and be shuttled to Goudmyn by taxi.
While wine tasting is the order of the day, there will be delicious gastronomic delights to choose from to enjoy on the banks of the river, browsing amongst the country food stalls (local olives, cheese, olive oils), shopping your way through the Robertson Farmers’ Market, enjoying a French-Style Steak lunch and much more.
Tutored tasting of different styles of Chardonnay from the valley will definately be something to look out for this year. Come experience the influence different soils and wine making practices influences the wine.
This year, children under the age of 18 will enter FREE of charge and a selection of activities will be available on Saturday and Sunday on a pay-as-you-go basis making the Robertson Wine on the River a truly festive family affair. Short scenic boat trips will depart from Goudmyn and are available at a cost of R 15pp. All funds raised will go the local Hospice.
Wine is being sold on site at cellar door prices, making the Robertson Wine on the River the perfect opportunity to stock up on your favourite wines, while you'll also spend time with friends and family on the banks of the river for a weekend of fine wine, good food, great music and complete relaxation whilst enjoying the spectacular scenery and warm country sunshine.
For the fourth consecutive year, the Robertson Wine Valley will host the annual Robertson Wine on the River.
This idyllic open-air wine festival takes place on the banks of the Breede River at the Goudmyn Farm, between Robertson and Bonnievale.
Just imagine a setting with the river flowing by, vineyards all around, beautiful hills and shading poplar trees.
While wine-tasting is the order of the day, there are also gastronomic delights from which to choose and include browsing amongst the country food stalls, lazy-lunching at the riverside restaurant, shopping your way through the Robertson Farmers’ Market, and much more.
Add to that live music, picnics and other local produce – and you’ve got yourself a spring festival not to be missed!
