Found in the heart of the Orange Free State, Rustler's Valley welcomes the crowds to one of their best bashes: four days leading up to the party to chill and enjoy nature and perhaps attend the Drum Workshop, thereafter four amazing days of entertainment over New Year's Eve (including a day to recover at the end). Probably the longest, most rejuvenating New Year's celebration you've ever been to.
The annual New Year celebration is gaining strength in numbers and in the range of musical (and other) entertainment. As always, revellers are promised live bands and DJs performing an eclectic fusion of music. The line-up is always holistic and family-friendly, with plenty of drumming, world and "sacred" music in a generally ultra-relaxed atmosphere.
Rustler's always attracts a diverse crowd, with visitors from all over Africa and beyond. The stunning valley gets its name from a hidden canyon where stolen cattle were once concealed until they could be smuggled away for sale.The picturesque setting of Rustler's Valley provides visitors with many varied activities and excursions, from horse riding and polo on the neighbouring farm (Franschoek) to plenty of walks to the Game Farm Thaba Thabo and drumming at Marimba House.
