Between the 1960's and 1980's Motown ruled the world's airwaves as the legendary music label catapulted the careers of unknown musicians and singers into the music hall of fame

The show will run between 11 June and 1 August at GrandWest’s Roxy Revue Bar, Wednesday through to Saturday.

The Motown sound encompassed the genres of R&B, soul, hip hop and pop all packaged with a distinct Gospel influence.

The sound was typified by moving lyrics set to strong melodies with a good beat and perfectly harmonised background vocals.

Glamorous diva’s such as Dianna Ross & the Supremes, the Pointer Sister, Gladys Knight & the Pips and Aretha Franklin epitomised the era with their powerful voices and big presence.

Revisit the era with hits such as I’m so excited, At the carwash, Enough is enough and Upside down.
