A “Bizzare” encounter at Cape Town’s latest trance club
Predicted to attract thousands of Cape Town football fanatics, celebrity watchers and the world’s media, the V&A Waterfront has organized a series of exclusive events taking place in and around the V&A Waterfront from 1st to 6th December 2009.
Coinciding with the final FIFA World Cup Draw - which takes place on December 4th at the CTICC, this once-in-a-lifetime experience is set to ignite local football fever among Capetonians.
The line-up of events include the unveiling of the official Adidas ball for the 2010 tournament, a display of giant replicas from Adidas of historic World Cup soccer balls, the finals of the Sony Fevapitch five-a-side football tournament for schools and the opportunity from Adidas to sign your name on the world’s biggest soccer jersey.
The full schedule of activity includes:
1 - 2 Dec @ 10h00 - 20h00: Sign your name on the world’s biggest soccer jersey at the Adidas event at the Clock Tower Square.
1 - 2 Dec @ 12h00 - 18h00: Coca-Cola entertains the whole family with entertainment on the Amphitheatre stage while children can play with a inflatable Fuse Ball, Cheesa Unit and a giant macaraba at the Market Square.
1 - 6 Dec @ 08h00 - 18h30: Sony will get fans match-ready with its world-class five-a-side football tournament, Sony Fevapitch. Comprising of 24 amateur teams from the Cape Town vicinity, provincial and national finals will take place from 1 to 4 Dec. Dancers, football freestylers and music artists will entertain the crowd between breaks during the game.
1 Dec – 31 Jan @ All day: A larger than life showcase from Adidas of the historic World Cup Soccer Balls from the last nine World Cups will be on display at the V&A Waterfront Entrance. Adidas will also host an all-day fun-filled entertainment programme at the Clock Tower Square on 1 - 3 Dec.
3 - 4 Dec @ All day: Also at the Clock Tower, MTN offers a full day programme of activity where visitors can go and meet their favourite artist and experience the on-stage entertainment and football activities.
4 Dec @ 20:30: The launch of the Adidas 2010 official FIFA World Cup soccer ball, with Total Sports offering the first opportunity to buy a ball.
