The relatively small size of the estate allows winemaker Etienne Le Riche to personally follow every step of the process.
In 1996, after 20 years at Rustenberg Wine Estate, Etienne started making his own wine in a tastefully restored wine cellar on the farm Leef-op-Hoop (literally Living on Hope) in the Jonkershoek Valley.
The first wine, Le Riche Cabernet Reserve 1997, was an immediate success, earning various accolades.
Join Le Riche for “From Bergerac to Stellenbosch” at the chef’s table in Gordon Ramsay’s maze restaurant on Wednesday 10 February.
Michelin-star chef Phil Carmichael will devise an elegant five-course course menu paired with a selection of fine wines chosen by Le Riche to ensure the definitive culinary experience.
