Adderley Street Festive Lights Switch-on

This year's event is cancelled but exciting new CBD events are planned

Update: 19 October 2020

The Adderley Street Festive Lights Switch-on takes place annually on the first Sunday in December at the Grand Parade. However, in these unprecedneted times, the City of Cape Town has made the decision to cancel the event for everyone's safety.

WATCH THIS SPACE FOR EXCITING NEW EVENTS

We understand the disappointment that could arise from such a decision," said Mayoral Committee Member For Safety And Security, Alderman JP Smit, "however there is a silver lining. The City is considering hosting several smaller events as part of the Cape Town CBD revitalisation programme, the first of which is set to take place at the Greenmarket Square this week."

Keep an eye on our website and social media pages for updates on these new exciting events, which will be organised in line with the national lockdown restrictions and with health and safety protocols in place.
