Cape Town’s azure waters off the South Peninsula attract tens of thousands of divers every year, who flock to the sea to catch a glimpse of some stunning, and sometimes rare, creatures on the reefs. With so many adventurers wanting to explore our waters, there is a two day festival dedicated to making this easier and even more exciting. The Cape Town Dive Festival takes place on Saturday, 30 April and Sunday, 1 May 2016 at Seaforth Beach in Simon’s Town.
This is the third festival of its kind where our spectacular reefs and shipwrecks will be showcased to all the local and international scuba divers who attend the event. 10 boats will facilitate hundreds of coordinated dives into our deep waters, allowing you to get closer to some magnificent marine life.
The organisers – a committee drawn from local dive shops, dive clubs and charter operators – will also run advanced technical diving courses on the days leading up to the actual festival and even a ‘Discover Scuba’ programme for those who have no experience but would love to learn how to scuba.
Meet and interact with like-minded divers in a sociable setting, and tuck into the delicious potjiekos on the Sunday, after the competition prize giving. This weekend affair will make you fall in love with our oceans all over again.
