On the day after New Year's Day, South Africans celebrate Tweede Nuwe-Jaar or the 'Second New Year'. New Years Day in Cape Town would not be complete without experiencing the authentic Cape Town sounds of the cape minstrels.
Entire communities turn out to take part in the celebrations which takes over the city centre at this incredibly colourful event.
Visitors can expect to enjoy a lively mix of music, dancing in the streets, costumed parades, food and drink stalls as part of this fun and friendly event. Its a definite top tourist attraction as well as a must do holiday event for Cape locals alike on New Years Day.
