The 6thVodacom Funny Festival, Cape Town’s premier comedy festival runs for the duration of the FIFA World Cup 2010 at the Baxter Theatre. The popular annual event, which has become “Cape Town’s Winter Tonic”, opens on 7th June and runs for five weeks through to 11th July.
The acclaimed production showcases a range of international performers from the brilliant UK ventriloquist Paul Zerdin, to the musical comedy genius of The Raymond and Mr Timpkins Revue from London to the zany antics of “Spanish Testosterone King,” Paul Morocco from the US, to Freddie Mercury’s alter ego, Mario: Queen of the Circus, direct from a full house run with La Clique in Paris and the effervescent presence of Craig Hill from Scotland.
The local line-up includes Riaad Moosa, Ndumiso Lindi, Alan Committie and Al Prodgers.
The festival is hosted by the inimitable Alan Committie June and the effervescent Craig Hill from Edinburgh.
Tickets for the Vodacom Funny Festival cost R130 each. Generous discounts are offered on block bookings for ten or more tickets to the same performance.
The discount structure is as follows:
1 – 9 tickets - R130 (no discount)
10 – 29 tickets to the same performance – R110 each
30 – 49 tickets to the same performance – R100 each
50 – 99 tickets to the same performance – R95 each
100 or more to the same performance – R90 each
630 seats (entire theatre) – R85 each
