During the World Cup school holidays introduce your children to Kipling’s children’s classic ‘Just so Stories’

During the coming school holiday Show Works will introduce youngsters to the Kipling children’s classic ‘Just so Stories’ in a theatrical production.

First published in 1902, the stories offer a fantastical account of how certain animals came to have their characteristics - thanks to the intervention of men or magic.  Kipling originally told the stories to his own children and many include moral lessons.

Audience interaction is encouraged during the show, which will appeal to youngsters between the ages of 4 and 12.  The action centers around four actors who ‘tour’ their show of fables, but experience problems backstage.  And of course they find out that the morals and lessons of the Just So Stories are still capable of solving problems in this day and age.

A veteran cast, - consisting of Sally Robinson, Alex Tops, Daniel Barnett and Lisa Larsen - innovative props and costumes will bring the delightful characters to life and provide the answers to important questions.

How the Nightingale got its song
