This month's Verses Session presents A Lyrical Treat

Featuring the raw emotion that 2010 SAMA Award nominee Byron Clarke brings to the stage; the phenomenal force of the soul/funk/jazz/hip hop band Black Southeaster, and established poet Star Anise with her new band.

The open mic session happens as per usual and we've already got people signed up, so come early!

Born and bred in Elsies River - an area poisoned by negativity yet laden with undiscovered talent - Byron Clarke is a musical legend in the making and the second addition to StereoType Records South Africa.

Blessed with an amazing vocal talent and growing up in a musical family – Byron was very involved in musical events and choirs in his community, all the while strengthening his musical ability and knowledge.

Byron credits his mother - a music teacher and opera conductor - as well as other talented local music legends as his musical influences and his sources of inspiration.

Byron has just released his debut album “Self Inflicted.”
