Sure Thing Fridays at The Dragon Room
Progressive house, electro and swing beatsat The Dragon Room
In a tribute show to his musical genius, James Marais has produced and directed the Elvis Tribute show to be performed at the GrandWest Roxy Revue Bar every Wednesday to Saturday from 3 December 2010 to 15 January 2011.
The show will take the audience back in time to where is all began, in the 50’s and 60’s with songs such as Ready Teddy, Don’t be Cruel and Heartbreak Hotel. Marais then moves on to the 70’s during Elvis’ Las Vegas days, with his rhinestone jumpsuits and hits such as Suspicious Minds and Burning Love.
For James Marais, Elvis is more than a show, it is his passion. He recently won the title of best Elvis Tribute Artist in South Africa, earning him the right to represent the country at the Elvis Festival in the UK and Wales. He was placed fourth in the competition, against contestants from 12 other countries.
Performing alongside James is drummer Ian Black, lead guitarist Warren Lomberg, Kevin Abbot on keyboards and saxophonist Morgan King. Backing and lead vocals are provided by Monique Cassells and Jacky Hort. The show includes Nicoll Pitt and Claire Schrickker as back-up dancers.
PLEASE NOTE:
* The show will not be taking place on the 24 December | 25 December | 1 January
* New Years Eve show begins at 22:30 and costs R120p/p
