The dreaded S-word will never be mentioned, although much fun and laughter is guaranteed.
Pieter-Dirk Uys will present a special show during the World Cup - called Fee-Fa-Fo-Fum - that comprises of a selection of comedy sketches that will enrich any visitor to our country and excite any citizen taking time off from the frenzied ball-kicking passion and madness in Cape Town.
Inspired by the fairy tale of Jack and the Beanstalk, where the Giant searches for Jack with the words ‘Fee-fie-fo-fum, I smell the blood of an Englishman!’, the entertainment will start with the story of Bafana and Sepp the Giant.
Audiences will meet General Montgomery trying to plan a way to encircle and capture the illusive Stadium on the Green Point Common; an imported Lady of the Night tries to negotiate in eleven official languages; a ‘bergie’ who has lived since 1652 at the foot of Signal Hill, and is now forced to move to Noordhoek by the new radical bylaws that have been imposed on the Mother City and a drunk and disorderly Cockney S****R hooligan, who finds himself trapped on the edge of one of the unfinished Foreshore bridges. The patient people of Cape Town will have their say!
Whilst in Pretoria Pik Botha has lost his tickets and wonders if his contacts with the Swiss still work? And then there is a FIFA, a Free-Information-For-All Survival Kit, in the capable hands of the Perron’s hostess Mrs. Evita Bezuidenhout. And of course, there will be a farewell word from our sponsor Sepp the Giant himself, supporter of the poor, compassionate uplifter of the disadvantaged and soon to be the richest administrator in the world.
Fee-Fa-Fo-Fum means that kicking balls will never be the same again! The show takes place during the week from 15 June and on certain weekends at Evita se Perron in Darling. Over weekends shows such as Icons and Aikonas, Elections and Erections, A Koeksuster for Zuma and the ever-popular Xmas in July will still be presented.
