Sober & Sexy Launch and Exhibition

Learn all about the empowered individuals who fought addiction and showed that being sober is sexy

This sensual exhibition seeks to empower those who struggle with addiction of any kind. Become part of the Sober & Sexy movement on Thursday, 27 October 2016 at 6 Spin Street and view the striking exhibition by Fiona McCosh.

Irish photographer Fiona McCosh started the Sober & Sexy project to raise awareness on recovery from addiction. She came up with the idea of creating a naked calendar after seeing The Calendar Girls and recruited members of the Cape Town Recovery Community to model for her. Fiona worked with people who are in the process of long term recovery from addiction of various forms and wants to illustrate the idea that “recovery is not only possible, but pleasurable – and even sexy sometimes!”

Sober & Sexy is launching their 2017 calendar on Thursday, 27 October 2016 and will be donating all proceeds to the Cape Town Drug Counselling Centre. Patrons are invited to view the exhibition, share their stories and purchase calendars and other trinkets on sale at the restaurant.
