Hilton Hotels & Resorts to open in Cape Town

“Cape Town is an important leisure destination not just for South Africa, but for Africa as a whole,” says SVP development, Europe and Africa, Hilton Worldwide, Patrick Fitzgibbon.

“It’s with great pleasure that we welcome the Hilton Cape Town, our third Hilton property in South Africa and our first in Cape Town - widely considered one of the world’s most beautiful cities,” said global head of Hilton Hotels & Resorts, Dave Horton.

The Hilton Hotel Cape Town has been undergoing a transformation process to convert the hotel into a Hilton Hotels & Resorts brand hotel. The stylish hotel, part of a portfolio including more than 540 hotels worldwide, is scheduled to open in April 2011.

The development will include 137 rooms, two restaurants, a bar, a pool deck, an executive lounge, 8 meeting rooms, one executive boardroom and a business centre. Additional guest facilities will include laptop hire, Wi-Fi internet, car rental desk, fitness centre, sauna and steam room, as well as valet parking and a boutique chocolatier.

The hotel is located five minutes away from the Cape Town Convention Centre, which will attract corporate guests, while access to Table Mountain, Camps Bay and the V&A Waterfront will attract regular travelers.
