Kirstenbosch Concert Series 2011/2012

Lineup for the ever popular Kirstenbosch Summer Concerts Series in summer of 2011/2012

Pack a picnic basket, gather up your family and friends and head to Kirstenbosch for this season’s Kirstenbosch Summer Concert series. Featuring some of South Africa’s best music acts, the hour-long concerts take place every Sunday afternoon from 20 November 2011 to 1 April 2012.

Surrounded by pristine lawns and luscious greenery, the Kirstenbosch Concert series is unlike any other concert you will experience in Cape Town. Concertgoers picnic on the soft grass banks that slope downwards towards the stage and enjoy the music in the late afternoon sun.

The charm of the Kirstenbosch Summer Concert series lies in the warm, friendly and relaxed atmosphere at the concerts where moms and dads and their little ones, groups of friends, and even teenagers and their parents come together to enjoy the music. Once you’ve laid your picnic blanket down in front of the specially constructed amphitheatre-like stage, you cannot help but be enchanted by the beauty of your surroundings.

Relax, Unwind and Enjoy
The open-air amphitheatre concerts offer something for everyone – from jazz, folk and rock to big band swing and are a delightful way to enjoy the surroundings, while relaxing and unwinding with family and friends.

In previous years music lovers have enjoyed concerts from the likes of Freshly ground, Just Jinjer, Shaun Morgan, Plush, Watershed, Loyiso Bala, Prime Circle, Malaika, The Rudimentals, The Dirty Skirts, aKING, the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra and many others.

The Old Mutual Summer Sunset Concerts at 20 November 2010 to 1 April 2011. Gates open at 15h30, concert starts at 17h30.
