Studio7 opens in Sea Point
Intimate acoustic music sessions
Patrick Craig started Studio7 in early 2010 after a dinner with friends turned into an impromptu jam session. This has culminated in the opening of the latest acoustic music venue in Cape Town.
Studio7 in Sea Point is an intimate venue with wooden floors, face brick walls and comfy white couches. This cool new spot will feature exclusive performances by some of South Africa’s best musicians across a variety of genres; only 50 tickets will be sold ensuring each event is an intimate experience.
Craig compares the experience to a first date, “It's a bit awkward to start, it's intimate, it has an air of ‘let’s see what happens’, there is a moment of complete amazement, and at the end, my goal is that both parties walk away feeling excited and wanting more.”
There’s no stage, lighting or powerful sound system – it’s all about the stripped down acoustic experience that allows the musicians to explore and engage with a crowd that is there to listen to them. Studio7 has already hosted an impressive list of local artists including Zolani Mahola, Vusi Mahlasela, Arno Carstens and Albert Frost.
Keep an eye on their line-up to make sure you get a ticket when your favourite muso is playing.
