Thanksgiving in Cape Town and the Western Cape
Celebrating Thanksgiving Day in South Africa?
Thanksgiving is a holiday from the United States and it’s also celebrated in Canada. Originating from the harvest festivals celebrated in the US and Canada; the holiday nowadays is 'the day when Americans eat Turkey'.
South Africans in the know celebrate it on the fourth Thursday of November. In Canada Thanksgiving Day is celebrated on the second Monday in October.
We will not venture into the origins of Thanksgiving nor discuss the celebration, in 1621, at Plymouth Bay. What we will do is tell you how to celebrate it on 24 November by trawling for more events.
No need to thank us.
