How about... Super VIP. Thats the immediate presence the Range Rover Sport (Supercharged) emits. One glance at this stylish SUV is all it’ll take to have you clamouring to get into the driver’s seat. And once you’ve relaxed into the seat, you’ll experience for yourself how driving such a vehicle can be both relaxing, and invigorating.
There are a lot of outstanding manufacturers out there, but Land Rover stands heads above the rest – and the Range Rover Sport stands proud testament to this.
Unlike a vast amount of luxury SUV’s that can’t handle more than a pavement, the Range Rover Sport can take pretty much anything you can throw at it, the elevated view acting as an efficient safety feature. This means that you can look just as poised driving through Camp’s Bay, combating the monstrosity of Sir Lowry’s Pass, negotiating the gravel roads of our resplendent wine farms, or catching the big five on a game drive; gravel roads barely register.
While marketed as a sports tourer – (intended to be Land Rover's most driver focused vehicle) as indicated by its subtle rear spoiler and tail lights shaped for aerodynamic efficiency, the Sport’s serious focus and power even surpasses the rest of the Land Rover range. Looks AND power?
With a supercharged 4.2-litre V8 engine growling away up front, you needn’t be worried about having enough force on tap. A huge 550Nm of torque means that this imposing SUV will devour any hill, anywhere, without skipping a beat. Then there’s the dynamic Program (only available on the supercharged model), which tightens steering and body control while also reconfiguring the stability control system for quick response.
And the interior? Wood styling and finishings complemented by high grade leather cover practically the whole heart of this beautiful beast – making climbing into it rather like climbing into a top quality ezy boy chair.
SUV’s (or 4x4’s) have been high on most motorists wish lists ever since the 1940’s when the first variant on military vehicles were introduced to the public. Not surprisingly the ability to look really good while driving a really powerful car is quite desirable. Rocky terrain everywhere, but not a rocky ride.
