Let Loose; let Synergy
If there’s one wild weekend in the peaceful Cape Winelands, it’s got to be Synergy
November - what’s new? Most people are ready to party, but where’s the party? It’s at Synergy Live 2010, on 26 November, an annual music festival quickly becoming one of the hottest, well, synergies, of outdoor splendour, live music and entertainment in Cape Town.
You want: three days in the sun, surrounded by stunning winelands scenery and great music
You get: much, much more…
Set against the idyllic backdrop of the Boschendal Wine Estate, Synergy lets loose an array of tight, intense, amazing sounds that rock right through the day and night.
Showstopper and headliner, Feeder, is enough to fill you up, but why stop there? The weekend’s line-up is full of amazing music to suit a whole assortment of tastes.
We’ve highlighted our top selection
Nu Folk Rock’s favourites, Holiday Murray, ease Friday off on a sweet note, and you won’t be able to help singing along over at the LMG stage, no matter how hard you rock. Foto Na Dans bring on classic beats and hard symphonies on the main stage along with the very first live performance of the catchy, cute Jax Panik.
Saturday sees a mix of music at the LMG stage, with The Bone Collectors connecting punky brass to a large helping of bluegrass beats, and Ree-burth rocking it Jozi style. On the main stage, dance enthusiasts are spoilt with SA’s most accessible act, Flash Republic showing us what’s what, before Feeder fills its role as the festival’s favourite attraction and wows fans far and wide.
If you’re into heavy dancing to excellent electro, let Haezer’s razor beats raise your temperature and heart rate over at the Electro Dome on Saturday, and don’t’ say we didn’t warn you. If you like it a little less grinding and a little more raving, Goldfish’s fine cut of jazz and dance energy will show you why they’re the darlings of Ibiza.
Sunday is all about Southpaw, the sweetest funky monkeys to soft rock the fairest Cape. They are smooth, sexy and dangerous, but most of all danceable and sing-alongable. And we don’t hear from them very often, so it’s worth lending an ear if you’re not familiar with their sound.
Oh! And don’t forget the Hello Techno tent with Craig Shacid, Dan Scot and B_TYPE Live with Charne exclusive to Friday. Friday. Techno. Uh oh!
Still got more party in you?
The Market Place will feed you and water you with Cape wine and an array of cuisine that will fill that grumbly tummy. The festival bazaar has all your fan gear – hoodies, CDs, and of course T-shirts. Coz who knows, you’re probably going to lose yours at the Inside Out Lounge, a sweet space to rest your weary grace, replete with DJs and live acts, comedy and chilling. And of course, if you lose your peeps, it’s back to the Main Bar, which requires Absolut-ly no introduction. Watch out for those shots! And take a torch to help you get back to your tent without winding yourself around a very dark tree.
If you get through all this and you still feel like a party, remember, December is just about to begin…
