'Kingdom of Hearts', a Social Romantic Network is born

All the good men are at their computers – a sentence that was stuck in my mind after the launch of the 'Kingdom of Hearts', a Social Romantic Network, on the 2nd September 2010, in Cape Town.

The Kingdom of Hearts™ is a personal introduction agency, offering a confidential, professional and trustworthy matchmaking service for busy professionals.

Kate Shuttleworth is a business woman, won the 'Top Women in Business and Government Entrepreneur of the Year' award in 2008 and is recognized in the Nedbank Book of South African Women. She is the founder of Marvellous Maids® (South Africa’s premier domestic agency) and now also the founder of  the Kingdom of Hearts, a personal introduction agency.

“Being a match-maker is an old profession and is certainly not the oldest.” says Kate, who keeps on re-inventing herself.

“Marvellous Maids is matchmaking as well. It requires listening, finding someone special and introducing two people to each other. But just how do you meet that someone special?" asks Kate, "If you are single, finding someone is quite difficult and putting yourself ‘out there’  can be intimidating.”

The tradition of matchmaking goes as far back as the Old Testament – so although it’s nothing new, South Africa lacks a professional and branded service.

 “We saw a gap in the market and wanted to do this right” says Kate, “so, after months of research and many phone calls and emails, we decided to go to the U.K to train with the Association of British Introduction Agencies (ABIA)."
