There are new artists every week. From sought-after Capetonian saxophonist Dan Shout to the guitar and voice of Ezra Lingeveldt (who’s still going strong after the 2002 Idols) and some surprise international acts too – you’ll just have to book your table and see what’s on at The 41 in Camps Bay.

Chic and trendy The 41 eatery on Camps Bay does SA food with international flair. And it’s very welcoming and relaxed by day – come barefoot and in your boardshorts and build your own breakfast. But, at night, it transforms into something intimate and romantic, serving elegant meals from an a la carte menu as you sip on one of their exquisite cocktails.

SA TASTES WITH INTERNATIONAL FLAIR
The 41 is obsessed with selecting the best local South African products and preparing them with a mod European/Mediterranean twist. Think springbok loin with a delicate Rooibos and apricot jam – a la the European tradition of serving game with sweet berries.

The true-blue South African dishes are popular too. Their signature grilled ostrich steak comes with a chakalaka salsa and pap, and it’s one of their bestsellers. The seafood such as oysters and crayfish are also very popular.

For a great everyday option, The 41 has increased their selection of burgers and, while the 41 Burger (mince patty mixed with cheese) is still their bestseller, the banting burger served on a sweet potato rosti is fast gaining popularity.

SERIOUS ABOUT COCKTAILS
Cocktails are very important at The 41, and their in-house mixologist ensures expertly and consistently concocted and well-balanced drinks. Expect sophisticated cocktails, such as the refreshing Blooming Protea (Whitley Neill protea and hibiscus handcrafted gin, berries, elderflower and tonic water), and something exciting, such as the spicy Deep Throat.

Their classic cocktails, such as the Aperol spritz, mojito and Long Island iced tea, are, however, still big sellers. And – bonus – they have a daily happy hour, from 3pm to 5pm, where all classic cocktails are half-price – every day of the week.
