If you’ve always thought that wine tastings were solely reserved for those who lounge around at luxurious wine farms, then you may need to think again. Tuning the Vine aims to break that stuffy stereotype with a stellar #InnerCityWineRoute for city slickers at a variety of venues in the Cape Town CBD on Wednesday, 11 October 2017.
Returning the the Mother City CBD for three summertime installments, this popular mid-week event for wine lovers is set to bring the fruits from some of the Western Cape’s best vineyards straight to the bustling city. After a successful launch in 2014, this inclusive affair made an effort to show Capetonians the joys of ‘wine-tuning’, which is a less formal and more fun way of sampling lush vino without having to leave the city.
‘Wine tuning’ is all about walking to 12 different venues to get a unique viewpoint on how to wine and dine in our beautiful inner city.
Some things to look out for during the October event:
From the North
Durbanville Wine Valley will be celebrating the sauvignon blanc season and presenting a selection from four of the region’s wine farms at Roast & Co. and HQ.
Get winning
Fancy winning a getaway? Find Little Big Wines at The Odyssey – they have two amazing prizes up for grabs. According the wine fairies, they’ll also be doing custom chocolate pairing.
Tap, taste and win!
This Tuning the Vine you will receive a new wristband from ticket stations to tap against the check-in device at each producer's table when tasting their wines. Tapping with your wristband puts you in line to win 1 of 5 sets of tickets to the next event on 12 November, and gives you the opportunity to sign up for special deals from and receive more information about your favourite wine producers. Winners will be announced after the October event.
