Saturday Psyde Show ft. Bizzare Contact
A “Bizzare” encounter at Cape Town’s latest trance club
The Hermanus Flower and Eco Fair will provide a whole lot of fun – and education too – for the whole family.
The sustainable lifestyle exhibits mounted by the Overstrand Conservation Foundation shows how it is possible to tread more lightly on this earth.
Some of the exhibits include:
“Green building” products that are available through a leading building material retailer, Penny Pinchers. The purpose of this exhibit is to create awareness about what leading building suppliers are doing to mainstream “green” products, so that they become the products of choice in the building industry.
High-tech products that are not readily available from normal retail outlets because they require specialist installation. Included in this category will be alternative energy, energy saving and non-renewable resource replacement items.
Natural, organic products and sustainable living products will be on sale. A selection of stalls selling various products including organically grown olives and preserves, dried fruits and nuts, aloe vera, essential oils, washing powder alternatives, earthworm composters, floral art, and many other items.
Indigenous Show Gardens, by top designers, will illustrate innovative ways to use indigenous plants to create different habitats, such as water-wise gardens, bird-friendly gardens and wetland gardens.
Human-wild animal co-existence exhibits. Displays about creatures that we typically fear and instinctively want to kill *or* remove from our urban areas, but which perform vitally needed eco-services. They are becoming threatened and we can live with them once we understand them. Live examples of animals and creepy crawlies, together with educational material will create better understanding.
If you have ever wondered whether you, as an individual can really make a difference to global warming and preserving the natural environment, come to the fair and let them tell you.
Note: The funds raised at the Fair will be used to maintain the Fernkloof Gardens and to support an Eco-Schools node coordinator.
Prices: R30 per adult | R15 children under 12 | children under 6 are free
Times: Daily from 09:00 – 17:00 | Sunday to 09:00 - 16:00
