Saturday Psyde Show ft. Bizzare Contact
A “Bizzare” encounter at Cape Town’s latest trance club
Pan African Space Station (PASS) is a 30-day music intervention on radio and the internet, as well as venues across greater Cape Town.
If there is a music festival in Cape Town that you want to explore in the months of September and October - then this is the festival of the months.
"Unique, mind opening and with African character in knowing true quality on the continent and getting it into your ears to open." Pan African Space Station
One of the headline acts of the Cameroon and Cape Town based festival will be a unique radio station that will broadcast 30 days of cutting edge music and information from Global Africa to the world from 12 September - 12 October 2010.
The music festival is about music from Global Africa, music that articulates nation-building in the African world - artists will not be expected to represent a country or cultural group.
The event is an opportunity for Capetonians and visitors to engage in the rich and complex creative expression which binds Africans from across the world together.
PASS is also an exploration of - and an intervention into - spatial and cultural ghettos in the city and how to link them physically through the music venues and conceptually on radio and the internet.
Now in its third year, PASS continues its cross-cultural and cyber-spatial exploration, bringing together diverse pan-African sounds from ancient grooves to future hip-hop.
PASS is dedicated to exploring new musical territory and the festival seeks to profile local and international acts which may not yet have reached household-name status in South Africa but which are still at the very top of their game.
This African music festival will also be acknowledging independent music venues across the city, with events happening at different times and different venues, so be sure to visit www.panafricanspacestation.org.za for all the details.
