Saturday Psyde Show ft. Bizzare Contact
A “Bizzare” encounter at Cape Town’s latest trance club
Who says winter is all about staying indoors? As the temperature drops, lift your family’s spirits with a trip to the top of Table Mountain on the Cableway at a price that’s sure to warm the cockles of your heart. Just don’t forget your jacket!
The winter family special kicks off from May 1st, where a profusion of family entertainment awaits you on top of Table Mountain. The special is valid on weekends and public holidays, as well as on every day of the June/July and September/October school holidays. As a paying adult passenger (R160 return), you can take two kids under 18 years up the mountain for free!
During the five-week school break from June 10 – July 12 - which coincides with the 2010 FIFA World Cup period - Table Mountain will be running a jam-packed holiday programme for children. It will feature characters including Ernie the Explorer and Dale the Dassie.
Keep the little ones warm by sending them scrambling after loot on the Winter Treasure Trail, just grab a map at the ticket office and let the hunt begin. Kids can also look forward to spot prizes, magic shows, face painting and craft activities. Dale, Ernie and the gang will be on hand to entertain youngsters, taking them on guided walks or telling them about the myths and legends of Table Mountain.
After all that action, why not let your children refuel at the Table Mountain Café? For the duration of the special, we’re offering a delicious kiddies’ wonderland menu. Youngsters can gobble up a pizza, hot dog or chicken schnitzel for just R30, followed by a warm mug of hot chocolate to wrap their fingers around (or a glass of fruit juice if it’s a warmer day).
Kids also stand a chance to win their own Table Mountain Aerial Cableway beanie and scarf by filling in the entry form on the back of the Winter Treasure Trail map.
But it’s not all about the young ‘uns this winter; mums and dads will have plenty to do as well. Why not take a stroll on one of many informative walks, or enjoy a piping-hot cup of coffee at the coffee bar? You can also browse through what’s on offer at the Shop at the Top, where a wide variety of souvenirs and gifts are available. If you’re a soccer fan, remember that during the World Cup, we’re setting up a sports bar in the Bistro where you can down a pint or two to ward off the winter chill.
Please remember this is all weather permitting.
