Saddle up for wine tastings on horseback at Waterkloof Estate

If all the Christmas shopping and end of year rush is getting to you, why not head out to the outskirts of Somerset West and find solace at Waterkloof Estate - where wine tastings on horseback bring one closer to nature this festive season.

Hosted in partnership with the adjacent Orion Stables & Riding Academy, enthusiasts are invited to saddle up for a 2 hour meander through Waterkloof’s slice of Cape Floral Kingdom.

The ride culminates with a wine tasting and Ploughman’s lunch at the estate’s ‘restaurant in the sky’, with its over scaled, picture perfect views of the vineyards and fynbos splendour.

Accompanied by knowledgeable guides, these fun outrides are suitable for young and old and can accommodate a group of up to 10 people. The entire horse riding experience costs R420 per person and includes wine and a delicious meat and cheese platter.

Times: Mon – Fri at 10:00 | Saturday at 15:00
